Hands On Georgia Week of Service 2009
Each year in late September and early October volunteers from all over
the Coastal Empire (and often beyond) gather to show that Savannah knows
what it means to be Hands On. This year's events featured over 700
participants cleaning the beach at Tybee Island, over 150 volunteers
dutifully celebrating National Public Lands Day with a clean up at Fort
Pulaski, and a crew of sailors from the USS San Jacinto helping
revitalize the facilities at the West Broad Street YMCA and guiding the
Waterfront Association's Weiner Dog Races. Thanks to all our Week of
Service volunteers--it wouldn't have happened without YOU!!
Right On, Target!
On Saturday, August 22nd approximately 40 employees, friends,
and family from the Target Import Warehouse in Port Wentworth
gave their day off to America's Second Harvest of Coastal
Georgia.
